“On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”” ~Mark 4:35-40 NKJV
Greetings to all. In the scripture above the disciples were given the Word of their “destination” just before they entered the storm. Some of you are fighting and struggling to hold on to your faith or onto something you have been believing for because of the storms of life. What you have to understand is that sometimes the storms come just to hijack your peace, your joy, and ultimately your faith by getting you out of faith, out of alignment, out of the Word, and into agreement with the spirit of fear which is from the enemy.
Focus on the Word and not the wind and waves. The Word brings life, peace, joy, empowerment, and strength. The wind and waves bring distractions like noise, fear, torment, anxiety, frustration, and so many other types of “debris” that obscures vision and alters how you see and hear. Let the Word of Christ dwell richly in you today. Don’t allow the distractions during the “crossing over” portion of your journey derail you. Character is built during the cross-over. Faith is strengthened during the cross-over. Grace is manifested during the cross-over. Gifts are sharpened during the cross-over. Anointing is poured out during the cross-over. Maturity and strength are developed during the cross-over. Change and transformation occur during the cross-over. The cross-over is what prepares you for what’s to come on the “other side”.
Don’t be so overly consumed with the “other side” that you miss what you’re to gain from the “crossing over” and be left under-prepared. If the enemy cant stop you, he will often use your pride to push you ahead of your season in God’s timing.
You may not be able to choose or change your circumstance today, but you can choose: Word over worry. Faith over fear. Peace over pieces. Strength over stress. Reactivate and reignite your faith today. See beyond what you see. Hear beyond what you hear. The more intently your focus on the Word and the assignment, the less you focus on the thing you fear. Real men and women of God are developed during the “cross-over.” Be encouraged, there are no shortcuts to the other side, just as there are no shortcuts to greatness.
Peace and blessings to you.
